Athletic programs: Europe Information

School activities/athletics for middle school and elementary school age students are the responsibility of Youth Services - not DoDDS-E. DoDDS-E does not have authority nor does it receive funding to initiate such services.

 



The Video Club meets Tuesdays after school in Mr. S’s Room 226. Be part of the LMS News Team and help to create our first DVD yearbook! Mr. S

 7th and 8th Grade Students: Are you a leader? Would you like to be one? Bakerloo and Metro Students: 7th grade Leadership Club meets Tuesdays. If you have not turned in a permission slip, signed by your parent/guardian, prior to the meeting, you may not attend.  Be sure to pick up your permission slip from Mrs. H as soon as possible!  She is located in room 275.            Mrs. H

Central and Hammersmith Students: 8th grade Leadership Club will meets on Thursdays in Room 275. Have you turned in your signed permission slip yet?  Mrs. H

 6th Grade Students: Do you think you are a leader? Do you want to be a leader?  Leadership Club for 6th begins soon!  All applications must be filled out and signed by your parent and / or guardian BEFORE you may attend. See Mrs. M in Room 251 or Mrs. Wenner to pick up an application during the first week of October.  Mrs. M and Mrs. W

The 7th Grade & 8th Grade Book Clubs meet during lunch once a month , usually in the Library, to discuss a topical book. Snacks are provided.

Cross Country Running - Permission slips are available on the bulletin board outside room 250. Practices are Tuesdays & Thursdays after school for runners who have returned signed permission slips.  If you don’t take the activity bus, do not stay unless someone can pick you up no later than 4:30. Mr. H

 Even if your boots are not made for walking, why not join Walking Club?  Enjoy cruising the campus, breathing in fresh air, laughing and talking with your friends after school?  Walking Club meets after school on Thursdays. Permission slips are available outside Room 243.    Dr. E

Want to learn to read and write in Cherokee?  According to Sequoia, this can be accomplished quickly.  Want to make a booklet about Lakenheath Middle School in Cherokee to be donated to the Cherokee Historical Museum in Tennessee?  The Sequoia Club meets Tuesdays in Room 243. Permission slips are available outside Room 243. Dr. E

Are you interested in getting fit?  Working out?  Lifting weights? Yoga? Being healthy?  Then the new Fitness Club is for you! Periodically, one of the personal trainers and fitness instructors from the Lakenheath gym will be joining us to keep us going.  We'll even be making mini-field trips (for free) over to the Feltwell gym Pick up a permission slip outside Mrs. N's room, Room 272, or Miss H's room, Room 260.  We meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays -- you can come both days or just one- FIT it into your schedule. Location of club meetings will vary, list for the announcements. .  Please come join us!             Miss H and Mrs. N

 Like to play computer games, work on homework on the computer, do web searches, email, learn basic computer maintenance? Stop by Room 223 for more information about the Computer Club and to pick up a permission slip.  We meet Tuesdays after school.            Mr. C

 National Junior Honor Society meets the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month in Room 175. Please attend if you are a member of last year’s Lakenheath Middle School NJHS. Mr. M

Homework getting you down?  Want some extra help? Then Ms. Shea's classroom, Room 150, is THE place to be on Tuesdays after school. You can catch the activity bus home unless you walk home. Come by and pick up a permission form outside her door. Hope to see you there!             Ms. S

All future rock stars are welcomed to Ms. S’s Guitar Club. If you have a guitar and want to strum, please pick up a permission form outside of Ms. Ss room. Room 150. We will meet on Thursdays.             Mrs. S

Do you like to cook? Do you like to make things? Do you want to bake and eat?  Well, then, here is your opportunity.  Cater Cats is for you. 

The club is designed to spark interest and develop skills in domestic science and food service.  Meeting on Thursdays, club members make holiday projects (e.g. gingerbread houses and jack-o-lantern cookies) and offer catering services to the community.  Other projects may include but not be limited to soap-making and quilting.

Garden Club will be meeting after school approx. twice monthly. Students will learn the Japanese art of IKEBANA, keep flowers around school cared for and will be planting an herb garden for the home ec classes. Sign up with and receive a parent permission form.   Mrs. T
