At
Lakenheath Middle School we are striving toward "Excellence in Education."
This can only be achieved by students, parents, and community leaders
working together in partnership with teachers. Lakenheath Middle School
has always supported programs that have encouraged parent involvement.
Open House, parent teacher conferences, parent advisory groups, awards
programs, classroom volunteers, parents as resource persons in the classroom
and parent chaperones are just a few of the ways parents are included
in the functioning of the school. Research has proven that when
parents are involved in the school, the child's progress always improves.
For school Volunteering opportunities contact the school secretary at
226 7007 or the PTO president.
To volunteer for the tutor/mentoring programs contact one of the school
counselors.
There are a number of other ways for parents and other members of the
military community to get involved:
School Home Partnership
(SHP)
School Home Partnership is a program designed
for parents in the school. Lakenheath Middle School has always supported
programs that have encouraged parent involvement.

School Advisory Committee (SAC)
The Department of Defense encourages professional employee and family participation in the formation and operation of overseas local school advisory committees. Committee members, elected from the community and the schools, are responsible for advising the principal on education-related matters. SAC members advise the principal on school policies, program staffing as it relates to the instructional program, budget, facilities, maintenance, administrative procedures, pupil personnel services, educational resources, program evaluation, student standards of conduct, and the school meal program. The Lakenheath Middle School Advisory Committee consists of four parents and four professional school employees.
